Peptides & Pharma

Having devoted extensive laboratory hours to developing and validating the best methods and standards of practice for preparing and testing lyophilized peptides, we consider ourselves to be best in class. Our Certificates of Analysis (COA) come with quick reference codes (QRC) that you can apply to your labels to provide access to detailed laboratory information, creating quality and transparency for your clients. This information provides valuable safety and dosing information that is certified by our ISO:17025 accredited laboratory. ECL provides testing for:

  • PEPTIDE QUANTITATIVE TESTING:  Determines how much peptide is actually present, rather than relying on the labeled or weighed amount. This supports accurate dosing, formulation, yield calculations, and batch-to-batch consistency.

  • PEPTIDE PURITY TESTING:  Measures the proportion of the desired peptide relative to truncated sequences, deletion products, residual reagents, solvents, salts, contaminants, and other related substances. High purity helps ensure reliable biological results and reduces the risk that impurities cause toxicity or affect performance.

  • PEPTIDE  IDENTITY TESTING:  Verifies that the material is the intended peptide, including its sequence and, where relevant, molecular mass, disulfide arrangement, stereochemistry, or chemical modifications. A peptide can appear pure yet still be the wrong sequence or an incorrect structural form.

Together, these tests establish how much is present, how clean it is, and whether it is the correct molecule. Testing only one or two of these attributes can give a misleading picture—for example, a sample may have high purity but the wrong identity, or the correct identity but insufficient quantity and significant impurities. This testing is therefore essential for reproducibility, safety, regulatory compliance, and confidence in experimental or therapeutic outcomes.

Microbiology Testing
Whether your goal is to detect spoilage bacteria and harmful microorganisms such as pathogens or to incorporate a preventative action plan for controlling troublesome bacteria in your manufacturing facility, we have your back. ECL Testing offers routine microbiology testing and monitoring programs to support your needs. We go the extra mile, incorporating "triplicate testing" to further decrease any chance of a false positive or false negative result. With results within 3-5 business days you will be able to release product faster and safer to the market and patients in need.
  • FOOD TESTING
ECL can support your testing needs with routine food microbiology testing services offered. Utilizing state-of-the-art DNA-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR), ECL is able to target and detect specific pathogenic organisms, rather than groups that may include non-targeted organisms that do no pose a risk, despite their ability to be cultured. By detecting DNA instead of waiting for organisms to grow, we provide much faster results with minimal risk of a false positive or negative compared to the high risk with plating.

  • PEPTIDE  ENDOTOXIN TESTING
The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) specifically identifies bacterial endotoxin testing as relevant to peptide therapeutics. Endotoxin testing is important for peptides because bacterial endotoxins—mainly lipopolysaccharides from Gram-negative bacteria—can remain as contaminants even after bacteria are no longer viable. They may enter peptide materials through water, raw materials, equipment, containers, or manufacturing processes. Even very small amounts can trigger strong inflammatory and immune responses, including fever, chills, low blood pressure, organ injury, or, at high exposure, life-threatening sepsis-like reactions. This is especially important when peptides are intended for injection, cell-based assays, animal studies, or other applications where endotoxin could affect biological systems. Our recombinant Factor C (rFC) endotoxin testing platform is compliant with the framework established in USP <85-86>

  • SHELF LIFE TESTING
Shelf life testing services are offered to ensure your product does not spoil while in the hands of patients and also providing your package with an expiration date.

  • Environmental Swabbing Programs
ECL provides swabbing programs to ensure your manufacturing facility and food contact surfaces are not contaminated with mold and bacteria. We also provide a Corrective Action Plan for Management and Production teams to prevent reoccuring issues in your facility that cost time and money.

Cannabis & Hemp

"At ECL Testing we've applied our passion for accuracy and integrity in science to our interest in cannabis and cannabis products to empower the cannabis community with potency, safety, and dosage information."

- Matt Madison

ECL Testing continues to be a leader in the cannabis testing industry. Our laboratory analyzes and measures the potency and safety of all cannabinoid infused products and medicines. Regardless of whether you are testing a flower sample, hash oil, wax, cannabis infused product, or edibles of all types, we've seen it and know how to process and test it. We use a variety of techniques and qualified methodologies on instrumentation to certify your cannabinoid and terpene profiles, as well as providing residual solvents, heavy metals, and pesticides analysis. Our team also provides additional testing for moisture content and water activity analysis. Remember, "It's not medicine until it's tested! Be responsible, know your medicine." - ECL Testing
